Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant position is located in Mountain View, CA. This position is responsible for accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Account Reconciliations, Payroll, and Balance Sheet accounts. May handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working closely with finance team reconciling the A/P and A/R module to GL by working full cycle process using Microsoft Dynamics AX system, including processing invoices, bank deposits, collection, monthly/quarterly multi states sales tax filing and reconciliation, processing checks and wires on a regular basis.
- Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliation, balance sheet and general ledger journal entries.
- Working closely with finance team to prepare and monitor department expenses against budget on monthly basis.
- Working closely with finance team for closing materials and analysis for management and Headquarters.
- Fixed Asset Monitoring
- Prepare and process semi-monthly full cycle payroll for multi-state, exempt and non-exempt employees using ADP while following APA guidelines and working closely with Human Resources
- The payroll tasks include processing semi-monthly full cycle US exempt and non-exempt payroll; including but not limited to garnishments, New Hires (set-up), benefits, taxes and off-cycle requests while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, create and reconcile payroll journal entries against bank statement, monitor and reconcile paid time off balance, resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Working closely with Human Resources to perform benefits/payroll audit on regular basis.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Prepare PBC for Workers Compensation audit and answer queries from auditor.
- Special Projects and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position)
- Working knowledge of APA principles including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
- Working knowledge of FLSA and proper taxation of employer paid benefits, including 401(k) contributions and funding
- Minimum of 2 years working knowledge of ADP Payroll processing (preferred)
- Working knowledge of current GAAP & IFRS Accounting Principles
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, AX Dynamics) experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX – (preferred)
- Experience with AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, account reconciliations
- Full cycle of accounting and financial reporting (preferred)
- Some cost accounting experience (preferred)
- Experience with creating accounting manuals and procedures-(preferred)
- Japanese speaker (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong, well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Previous experience in a dynamic and changing environment (preferred)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and willing to go above and beyond to get the job done
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Minimum two (2) recent years of working experience in processing payroll
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
